New for 2026: LMLL Volunteer Program Overview
Beginning in Spring 2026, Lake Murray Little League is launching a refreshed
Volunteer Program designed to keep operational costs low while balancing the essential volunteer needs
that make our league possible.
When a family completes at least 8 volunteer hours during the spring season, their volunteer fee
will be credited toward their next season’s registration. If a family chooses not to volunteer, the fee will be
applied directly to the ongoing operational costs of running the league — including umpires, field maintenance,
equipment, and snack bar staffing.
Eligible Volunteer Roles
To ensure fairness and consistent tracking, the following roles and activities qualify toward the volunteer hour requirement:
- Registered Core Roles: Board Member, Team Manager (1 per team), Coach (Upper Division – up to 2 per team; Lower Division – up to 3 per team), Umpire, Team Parent (1 per team), Scorekeeper (1 per team)
- Volunteer Sign-Ups: Umpires, Snack Bar, large-scale league events such as Opening Day, Closing Day, and Tournament Support, select facility & field maintenance projects
- Committees (New for 2026):
- Finance Committee: Up to 2 volunteers (approx. 1–2 hours/month) supporting budgeting, financial processes, and operational review
- Events & Fundraising Committee: Up to 3 volunteers (approx. 1–2 hours/month) assisting the Sponsorships, Fundraising, and Community Events board members with league-wide event planning and execution
Eligibility & Tracking
Volunteer hours will be tracked through league-approved sign-ups and role assignments. Only pre-approved roles and scheduled shifts
will count toward your total. Hours may be fulfilled by any adult family member associated with the registered player.
