Volunteer Requirements

To all LMLL Volunteers,

First, please accept my thanks in your commitment to the League and the kids.  Without you, it wouldn’t be possible to provide the community with outstanding youth baseball season after season.

Please check the Spring 2021 Volunteer Checklist to see what requirements you need to fulfill for this season.

1. Background Check - You will be sent a link to the background check when you register as a volunteer through the Lake Murray Little League Website.  This should be your first priority. No one should be on the field without a background check. Please register as a volunteer on our website today so we can begin the process.

2. Coaches Code of Conduct - All Managers and Coaches need to sign the Code of Conduct.
Please do the following:
1. Read it
2. Download it
3. Sign & Date it
4. Download it with changes
5. Return it as an attachment in an email for our records

3. Skills and Safety Clinics - There is an option to attend this virtually if you need to renew the requirement. If you are a new volunteer there will be a few opportunities to attend these clinics. The first is hosted by District 33 Little League. March 7th Clinic Info

4.  Sudden Cardiac Arrest Training - This is a one-time, 20 minute training on Sudden Cardiac Arrest in youth sports.  Please complete this free training and forward your completion certificate to me via email.

5. Concussion Training - This is a one-time, 20 minute training on Concussion Protocol in Youth Sports. Please complete this free training and forward your completion certificate to me via email.

6. Abuse Awareness Training - This is a one-time, 20 minute online training. Please complete this free training and forward your completion certificate to me via email.

7.  Adult, Child, and Infant CPR with AED is now required for all volunteers - Most CPR classes are good for 2 years.  Any in-person or on-line course is acceptable as long as it has Adult, Child, Infant, and AED.  The most inexpensive online course I’ve found is here:  https://www.simplecpr.com/adult-child-infant-cpr-aed  Again, any course will do so if you find a cheaper one, go for it.  But remember, it must have Adult, Child, and Infant CPR and AED.

We are working on a way to do the training in-house but are struggling with an effective way to manage the social distance requirements and logistics to make it work.  More info to follow on any online classes.  Please send me a copy of your CPR card or course completion certificate once completed.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

Thanks,

Dave Hardenburger, Mentor
